The cycle consists of approximately ten hours of music. Intermissions within each work over the course of the work add an additional two hours (the suggested intermission timing being 30 minutes). If the work is presented on a single date, it is suggested to have further time of at least one hour between Parts 1 & 2 and Parts 2 & 3. While the piece may be performed over a single date as described above, it may also be presented one Part per date over the course of three consecutive dates.
